/// Album Description ///

“Klan Aileen" is the second studio album by Klan Aileen. It is the first to be released after they restart as a duo, differs from their previous work not only in its sound but also in the fact that it is entirely in Japanese. As the monochrome cover tells, it is an unsettling and empty post-rock sound. But there are also influences from improvised music and noise music.
The album includes both songs from "Nightseeing / Revolver", which was a smash hit and sold out immediately after its 7' release prior to the album ("Revolver" was renamed "Happy Memories" for the album). Except for these two songs that have rushing power like Godzilla, the rest of the album is based on garage rock & psychedelic rock, with ghostly (almost inaudible) voices, anxiety-inducing improvisations, and krautrock in cave.
The end of album, M10 "Fascism" with its like the light shining into the darkness or dawn-like poetic sentiment gives the album a mixed impression of pessimism and optimism.
All songs were recorded in one take, documenting both the band's spontaneous physicality and their spirit.

『Klan Aileen』はクランアイリーンの2枚目のスタジオアルバムである。彼らが2人組のバンドとして再出発したあと最初に発表したこのアルバムは、サウンドもさることながら全て日本語詞という点も前作との大きな違いである。モノクロのジャケットのイメージそのままに不穏かつ虚ろなポストロックが展開されているが、即興音楽とノイズミュージックからの影響も見て取れる。
アルバムに先駆けてリリースされた7’が即完売しスマッシュヒットとなった『Nightseeing / Revolver』の両曲が収録されているが(「Revolver」はアルバム収録にあたり「Happy Memories」と改名された)このゴジラ的な突進力を持った2曲以外はガレージサイケを基調としつつ、亡霊のような(ほとんど聴こえない)歌声、不安を掻き立てるような即興演奏、洞窟の中で繰り広げられるクラウトロックといった面持ちの曲が並んでいる。
M10「Fascism」の光が差すような、あるいは夜が明けるような詩情を持った終わりがこのアルバム全体に悲観と楽観がないまぜになったような印象を与えている。
全曲1発録りで録られており、バンドが持つスポンテイニアスな身体性、そして精神の両方がドキュメントされている。
